Millweld Ltd – Urgent Welder Qualification

Millweld in Workington Cumbria offer welding services both in their facility and out in the field. Millweld came to Responsive with an urgent requirement to test out welders, produce PQR’s and welder qualifications.

Responsive guided Millweld in the correct material grades and sizes to gain the best range of qualification not only for the work in hand but for future use on other work.

Millweld won a contract for offshore work on the Robin Rigg wind turbines in the Solway just of the Cumbrian coast. As with most things in the offshore world the commitment to quality was a main aim of Millweld.

Responsive provided a technician to work in hand with Millweld and test out the welders on SS460 material. The weld tests where subsequently radiographed and mechanically tested before all paperwork was produced.

“Lee at Responsive guided us on the best range of material so that we had better use of the procedures in the future. This has helped us no end on various contracts. Working with Responsive was really productive and the timescales really helped us meet our demanding deadline.”
